Tiny works are making a big impact on the local art scene.

A tiny revolution is taking over the Tri-Cities! The South Columbia Creative District (SOCO), is hosting the Tri Tiny Art Small Scale Showcase: a curated collection of miniature masterpieces, each one no larger than 8” squared (or 8” cubed!).

The Tri-Cities is full of art lovers and makers, and the best way to support and grow the scene is to buy local art. Art can be expensive, and tiny art is one way to overcome the affordability barrier to creating or acquiring original artwork, allowing space for new artists and their potential clients, and increasing the diversity within the local art community.

So, just how tiny is tiny art? For our purposes, a tiny artwork measures 8x8x8 inches for 3-dimensional works and 8x8 inches for 2-dimensional works. Tri Tiny Art is open to artists from 16 years old, using all mediums, materials, and methods.

The Tri Tiny Art Showcase applications are open April 15 - June 15, 2026. Application forms are available on historickennewick.org/sococreativeartsfestival or frogpatchpaperworks.com/tritinyart

Artworks will be sold live during the SOCO Creative Arts Festival on September 26, 2026. The proceeds are split 70/30 between the artist and SOCO. All proceeds received by SOCO will be used to create and upgrade artist professional resources (eg. assistance with business licenses, marketing, etc), and artist services (eg. funding for the creation of public art).
