Born in March 2020, Penny is an Olde English Bulldogge mix currently residing in a home with other small dogs. Her foster describes her as a happy girl who enjoys a good belly rub, a bully stick, and couch surfing — don’t mistake her squatty legs for being a limitation; she’s a good jumper!

She walks well on a leash but isn’t into long walks. She is also crate-trained and potty-trained. Penny will chew up a typical dog bed, so she uses blankets instead, and will often ‘nurse’ on her blanket to soothe herself.

She does not appear to know any obedience cues, but she is working on it! Right now, when she gets excited, she likes to jump on the furniture (and sometimes on you) when expressing her exuberance for something wonderful happening.

Penny has attended one adoption event and did very well with all the other dogs, people, and the high activity in general. She is altered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Because she was found as a stray, she will require a home with a secure fenced yard at least four feet tall. A dedicated family who understands bulldogs and potential healthcare needs as she ages would be ideal. While she would most likely do fine with another dog — she always has in the past — her behavior with cats is unknown. If there are children in the home, it’s best if they are over the age of five.
