It's Earth Month, and (maybe paradoxically) I find that there's a little bit of hope in the bottom of the box.

Sometimes it's difficult to allow ourselves to care when there is so much bad going around. But we need to. We really fucking need to. We need each other.

And also... today is April 1st. So, in honor of April Fool's Day, I'll give you a sneak preview of a very funny self-help parody sent in by one of our contributors and narrated by the wonderful Tumbleweird Narration team:

TAGCON is here!!!!

It's happening April 18–20 at the HAPO Center:

AND!!!!! Trans Day of Visibility happened on March 30 in Downtown Kennewick (in the area by Hot Mess Burgers). It was wonderful. So many people came together to show how much we care about our trans siblings.

In this issue:

It's no coincidence that this issue is about learning to care—Section Editor Jenny Rieke had that theme in mind when putting together this month's Boots in the Basin. She says:

Show up. Don’t hold back — give it whatever you’ve got....

Having a spot of refuge from the overwhelming world — where the natural state of the earth prevails — is a quality of life feature that benefits all of us.

And in a moment of serendipitous synergy, Steve Ghan wrote an article about biking that paired beautifully with the bike map Jenny wanted to include in this issue!

Of course, you'll note the beautiful 4-page spread put together by Sustainable Tri-Cities, with a "year in review" and multiple articles in honor of Earth Day.

Our sister publication from Alcon Media LLC, El Vuelo Informativo, came in with a strong issue again this month. Check out the bilingual content from our wonderful partners.

Alright, I know you're all anxious to get to this gorgeous cover!!! Here's the deal:
