Como sabemos, Alcon Media LLC, junto con su marca más querida, “La Ranchera 104.5 FM y 106.9 FM”, ha creado un espacio que cada semana va ganando popularidad: “Radiante Mujer”, un programa de radio dirigido por Ana Nuñes en la conducción y Ulises Navarro en la producción. En este mes de celebración a nuestras mujeres y a todos los movimientos que buscan la justicia y la lucha por la igualdad de género, tuvimos dos secciones muy interesantes.
En los primeros dos programas, Ana Nuñes abrió el micrófono para presentar a Mireya Antúnez, miembro de la policía estatal de Washington. La oficial Antúnez compartió un poco sobre su historia de vida y los desafíos que enfrentó al decidir formar parte del cuerpo de seguridad vial estatal. Estos desafíos no solo se presentaron durante su entrenamiento, sino también en su hogar, debido a dos razones muy marcadas: ser hispana y ser mujer. A menudo, llego a detener a transportistas y muchos se sienten impotentes al saber que es una mujer como yo quien los está corrigiendo”, menciona entre risas haciendo alusión a su estatura y complexión baja. “He tenido que enfrentar insultos, incluso he llegado a temer por mi seguridad física cuando algún conductor pierde su temperamento. Pero esto jamás me impide hacer mi trabajo y cumplir con mi deber. La segunda entrevista se centró en las grandes oportunidades que Mireya encontró al unirse a este programa de protección. “El estado de Washington ofrece muchas oportunidades y beneficios. Yo, sin duda alguna, me siento muy contenta de pertenecer a la patrulla estatal de caminos del estado de Washington. Invitó a que muchas más mujeres se atrevan a informarse y formar parte. Quiero que sepan que esto no es solo para hombres, nosotras también podemos. As we know, Alcon Media LLC, along with its beloved radio station La Ranchera 104.5 FM and 106.9 FM, has created a space that gains popularity week by week: “Radiant Woman”, a radio program hosted by Ana Nuñes and produced by Ulises Navarro. In this month of celebrating our women and all movements seeking justice and gender equality, we had two very interesting segments.
In the first two programs, Ana Nuñes opened with an introduction to Mireya Antúnez, a member of the Washington State Police. Officer Antúnez shared a bit about her life story and the challenges she faced when deciding to join the state road safety force. These challenges arose not only during her training but also at home, due to two very marked reasons: being Hispanic and being a woman. She operates in the field of commercial vehicles, where she assists those in need and ensures the safety of those involved in driving various trucks and cargo transport.
“For me, my job is very important, as it is necessary to always ensure that all truckers meet safety requirements. Often, I stop truckers, and many feel powerless knowing that it is a woman like me correcting them,” Officer Antúnez says with laughter, alluding to her short stature and petite build. “I’ve had to face insults; I’ve even feared for my physical safety when a driver loses their temper. But this never stops me from doing my job and fulfilling my duty. I’ve fought hard to get here, so I won’t give up just because it’s uncomfortable for a Hispanic woman of 1.60 meters to fine or assist a driver on the road,” adds Officer Mireya Antúnez, responding to our colleague Marines Escaramazza’s question.
The second interview focused on the great opportunities Officer Antúnez found by joining this protection program. “The state of Washington offers many opportunities and benefits.
