Narrated by Barbara Henslee

In the last issue, our focus for the month was: “What seeds do we need to plant?” This month, it felt only right that we would continue to look after the intentions, goals, and thought processes we may have started and bring them into the next stage of reflection. Our question for this pick-a-card reading is: “How do I nurture the right things in my life right now?”

When you have a moment, take a deep centering breath and put yourself in an open state of mind. This does not have to be a mindset of pure focus and peace, just an open one. Ask yourself to be guided to the answer that is meant for you. It may be one of these three cards, or more than one of them. You can pick a number (1 – 3), see which corresponding image resonates with you, or just see which section catches your eye.

As always, this is just the beginning. These general readings are meant for you to take with you and make your own through your intuition and personal journey. With all that said, let’s begin!

CARD ONE

The first card drawn was the Seven of Cups reversed. This is a card of decisions, getting overwhelmed by choices, needing to rely on intuition, and distractions leading you off course. This energy manifests in many ways, such as doing things to help you fit in that sacrifice too much of who you are or what you want. It is that moment someone forgets why they even wanted to achieve their goals in the first place. It is chasing achievement over substance, winning at any cost but losing your sense of humanity in the process, or giving up a dream because it is hard to defend its value to others. It is walking into a room to get exactly what you have always wanted, only to stop and get distracted by ‘what ifs’ and the fear of missing out.

This indicates that an important skill you have made some progress in lately is disengaging from the haze of outside influences telling you what you should want, and instead have been aligning more with your own values and intuition. Doing this can be liberating, but very exhausting. It requires confidence in your abilities as you go against the norms, and it is only natural that at times you may get distracted or tempted by the relief that blending in can provide. Don’t forget why these values were important to you in the first place and recenter yourself. It is okay to get distracted, but come back to yourself and remember who you are and what you are doing all this for.

CARD TWO

The Two of Cups is a card of harmony, balance, and good emotional flow (usually between you and another person or group of people). It is representative of some energies that work well together by highlighting strengths through their differences. Instead of insecurity, competition, imposter syndrome, and the pressures of trying to do it all and be it all, this card brings us into a flow state with our surrounding relationships.

This is a reminder that you do not need to be everything for everyone. You may find that going forward, you are entering a time of prioritizing connections that highlight your strengths as they are, rather than the ones that expect you to be someone you are not. Spending some time nurturing this in other people, as well, can do you a lot of good; so examine your existing connections and be sure you are approaching your relationships with an eye for who everyone is as an individual and how you compliment each other. You may find that collaboration will come up quite often as a general theme as you embrace opportunities to merge your skillsets with others. You’ve done a lot of work on yourself as an individual; it is now time to grow in your ability to harmonize energies. If you are historically a bit isolated or hesitant to work with others, consider all the small ways you interact with others that you may not have noticed before. There are many ways to collaborate that don’t fit the traditional examples.

CARD THREE

This message may seem a little strange as something to nurture at first, but it actually comes together to form an interesting picture for you. The Tower card is one that tends to make people nervous, as it can represent chaos, change, upheaval, and the destruction of established systems. People are naturally hesitant around such change, but The Tower card can be such a gift to those who have spent a lot of time feeling stuck or unable to break cycles that have held them back. This card lets us know when we are trying to grow in an environment that can’t support the necessary changes, and removes the blockages for us.

If you were drawn to this section, you likely spent a lot of time and energy nurturing, repairing, healing, and growing things for systems that have not been the most balanced for you. This card is a message to nurture the realization that it is okay to let go. You cannot save everything and everyone. It is simply time to save yourself right now, so that you can build a better system later once the flames have died down. Fighting this process is like running into a burning building trying to save it by pulling out one brick at a time. It is better to let it go and learn from what crumbled, so the structure you build next is better suited for what is necessary. Nurture grace towards yourself when you can’t save or fix a situation that needs to end. You are not failing for getting to safety or for resting while you go through this process.
