Welcome to another Tarot time! The theme the cards chose for this month was Temperance, which speaks to the art of balance through moderation and harmony. On a personal level, this card is a great heads up that you may be entering a chapter of your life that requires you to balance several opposing forces. It is a time of compromise, avoiding extremes, and finding a middle ground. On a community level, this message is about pacing ourselves, being patient with change, and learning when to sacrifice some comforts for the greater good. It is a push and pull — a give and take.
The following messages in this reading are all different pathways to bring aspects of your life into harmony and flow. To find your message, take a few centering breaths and let yourself be drawn to either a number (one, two, or three) or one of the accompanying images. Alternatively, you may let your eyes drift to a section. And as always, I encourage you to journal and continue the reflection on your own; this reading is just a starting point.
CARD ONE

The Empress is a figure of creation, sustainable systems, and nurturing. She is a caretaker with an eye for how things will work in the long run, allowing her to maximize efficiency in the ways in which she takes care of others. Balance is very important for her; she needs to take care of her surroundings without losing herself.
If you were drawn to this message, you likely have some creating and nurturing to do. It is not your path to fight, right now; instead, you are meant to spend some time gaining a new appreciation for how your support has helped sustain efforts for the long haul in the past, and where you can get plugged into supporting roles in the present. Support comes in many forms: organizing, advising, fueling, planning, etc. In order to avoid burnout, be wary of any situation that is 100% reliant on your full attention, and instead work on setting up sustainable systems around you that can manage themselves (or be managed by others, when needed). This month, for you, is all about working smarter, not harder.
CARD TWO

The card that came forward for this message was the Six of Wands. This card originally came out reversed, but it spun on the table and ended up resting in the upright position. In the reversed position, the Six of Wands represents small victories that go unnoticed, and getting too wrapped up in the need to see the outcome as worth the effort, instead of focusing on the importance of the journey itself. Upright, the achievements are more noticeable, and the wins feel earned. The card spinning as it came out of the deck is something I intuitively read as a positive shift in perspective — one you will come to naturally, regarding your achievements and the achievements of those around you.
Celebrate your wins, both big and small. It will be increasingly important to recognize losses as opportunities and challenges rather than letting them undermine your confidence. The balancing act you will have to maintain is one of holding grace for yourself while still motivating yourself to continue toward everything you are meant to achieve. Keep up the good fight, and work to maintain your faith in the process.
CARD THREE

The Five of Wands is a card of competition, conflict, and healthy debate. This is not the type of conflict you want to avoid, as it represents the tension necessary to grow in your skills. Think of this as a fight that is more akin to sparring than an actual fight to the death. A person who has the same skills as you could be viewed as a competitive rival, or you could choose to see them as a motivating teammate that pushes you toward your own growth just as you push them. It is the art of embracing challenge and friction.
This is a time to find balance between respecting the skills of others without diminishing your own. It is your moment to put your talents into practice and show yourself that you deserve to be standing there alongside the people you look up to. Confidence is necessary, blended with a healthy amount of humility. This card appeared in the upright position, so this is a balance you are highly capable of achieving. The core of this comes down to respecting yourself and the others who are participating in the same battles as you. Keep being authentically yourself, and your light will shine just the right amount — visible to the exact people who need to see it without dimming anyone else’s light.
