Ashleigh recently had a show at Cafe con Arte entitled The Threads Between Us, "a group art exhibition that explores the stories we carry and the connections we share. It is a celebration of resilience, connection, healing, and the transformative power of storytelling."

Bird in Hand by Ashleigh Rogers
This painting is part of an ongoing series where I use the symbolism of the color red and red threads to explore lineage, renewal, ancestral intuition, trauma and healing.
Bird in Hand depicts a woman in the final stage of her life cradling two vulnerable, hungry baby birds, completely dependent on the care of others with one hand being fed and nurtured through the threads of connection, her second hand both giving and receiving threads of trauma, love, history and life and her third hand holding a bird entangled in the threads of inherited pain navigating a way to be free from harmful narratives, while remaining tied to a rich history of love.
