This last year found me diving deeper into those very specific parts of myself. They say you don’t know where you’re headed if you don’t know where you’ve been.

I decided to use N’evaeh and Nova (my nephew and God-daughter) for this piece because to me, they are a direct representation of our future. The birthrights my ancestors fought for, the civil rights my parents fought for, and the fight my cousins and I are currently fighting for, are for them.
Let this piece inspire you to do better for yourself,  your family, your community and their futures.
