Welcome to September already! A new season will be here before we know it, and there is a lot going on in the world. It is my hope that by stopping to grab your monthly reading, you take a moment for yourself. With so much uncertainty around, this month I will offer you one spoiler and share that all three cards are quite positive and encouraging, so any tough love or hard lessons can wait. This is an anxiety-free reading!
To assist the reading, take a few deep breaths and focus on being receptive to the message meant for you. When you feel a little calmer and centered, you have two choices. You can either look at the provided images and see what you are drawn to, or ask yourself to be drawn to a number (1, 2, or 3) and then read the corresponding message. It is totally acceptable to be drawn to more than one. When you’ve completed your reading, feel free to further connect with it by working with the images of your card(s). Keep the page pinned up somewhere, cut them out, and put them in your wallet for the month, or perhaps on your nightstand. The reading is just the beginning!
Card One
The Magician is a card of having the skill and willpower to create. During a Magician period, life will present some challenges that require your active participation. It is a time to create solutions and work towards the future you want. A big cosmic ‘green light’, this card tells you that you have what you need to continue and to direct the process forward. Paying attention to the ideas swimming around in your head can end up paying off in a significant way.
During this time, you may find yourself being presented the unfinished raw materials that you need to progress, and it will be up to you to make something out of them. Being independent, in charge of your next steps, and making things happen in a creative way will be the dominant themes for you for this month. Dream big and try not to let self doubt or pessimism talk over the significant efforts you are making. This is an extremely active time, so be prepared to make some big decisions!
Card Two
The Ten of Pentacles is a rather fortunate card when it comes to the tangible things in our lives. It represents a time of plenty coming, and some resources you need finding their way to you. Achievement, success, ending a chapter on a good note, and adding the final touches on some things is the kind of energy this card invites. It is also meant to be a moment to look back at all that has been done and enjoy all that is under your domain (like your home, your projects, and how you spend your time).
You’ve come a long way! You may be tempted to look for the next thing and be resistant to sitting down for a second. However, it is very important that you take some time to appreciate all that you have been able to accomplish. Take a look at everything, big or small. It’s recommended that you reflect on all the little things you’ve done for years that brought you to this moment, and how you may have underestimated those decisions and actions in the past. Going forward, try to commit to honoring the steps you take that you may perceive as small, for they are truly the backbone of your journey.
Card Three
The Ten of Cups focuses on emotional wellbeing and fulfillment. This card reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously, to embrace the little moments of joy we can find, and to prioritize emotional harmony. It’s all about not taking things for granted, and letting our emotions have room to breathe. It is a very ‘go with the flow’ kind of energy that brings forward a lot of fulfilling moments for us and those around us.
Save a little bit of time for some joy, silliness, and treats. It’s a great time to be directed by your inner child and let things flow freely from there. Try not to second guess yourself or overthink the process of bringing joy to your life. This isn’t a homework assignment that you can really get wrong as long as you find a way to have a good time. Treat this like a reminder to practice some self care specifically rooted in the expression and practice of joy. It’s also a good idea to make sure that you are being expressive to those you love about how you feel towards them, as this card helps us get out of the day to day slump and lean further into emotional connections. This is a very spiritually abundant card as well, so if you have wanted to dive a little deeper into meditation or a different spiritual practice, this is a supportive time to do so.
