Narrated by Kelly Wilkinson

Every generation of women has to deal with fertility, in one way or another.

My grandmother was a midwife in rural South Dakota in the early 1900s, and she delivered 167 babies before she retired. Born in 1911, my mother had an abortion in 1940 and had her tubes tied. After she married my dad in 1945, she had the procedure reversed. I was born in 1949, and was 35 when I had my first pregnancy and child. Between my first and last child, I had two abortions; the first was a simple procedure, but the second was a tubal pregnancy that required major surgery to save my life. Once I had my second child at 40, I had my tubes tied, since another child would probably kill me.

SAVE WOMEN’S LIVES! GIVE THEM A CHOICE!I am appalled that our lawmakers want to take away women’s bodily autonomy — the right to choose. I am appalled by men, especially male lawmakers, who think they have a right to invade my privacy and make laws about what I can do with my body. Forcing childbirth by removing medical care is horrible, and must be stopped. I don’t care what you believe — the very nature of believing is that it is not based upon fact or science, and it is a deadly way of making laws and ruling the people.TIME FOR THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT.

Women are 51% of the population but 70% of the poor and 83% of single parents. They do 66% of the work producing 50% of the food but earn just 11% of the pay and hold only 1% of the land. In case you are wondering, this is why we are still fighting for liberty, freedom, and equality. WE CAN GIVE WOMEN BODILY AUTONOMY.

In less than three years, thirty State Governors, State Supreme Justices, State Legislators, and voters on the ballot proclaimed the ban on abortion unconstitutional and deadly. The majority of people have begun to see how deadly the abortion ban is, no matter how much the Republicans — conservative justices, legislators, and now the President of the United States — lie! Here’s the truth: these lawmakers — mostly male — say they’re saving babies, even as their states’ infant mortality rates spike. They claim their states are safe, even as doctors flee. Because they can’t prove abortion is dangerous, they fabricate statistics. They mock feminist warnings about the threat to birth control as they restrict access to IUDs and emergency contraception. On top of it all, they call themselves the party of family values as they force women to carry dead and dying fetuses, decimate maternal healthcare in rural communities, torture patients, and kill women.
