Hey, Tumbleweirdos!

Henry, who has made 50 (yes, 50!) crossweirds over the years, has retired from puzzlemaking. I have huge shoes to fill, but I'm doing my best with the new puzzle page in this month's issue. We added a couple of other puzzles, as well. I hope you enjoy them! Henry's crossword style will certainly be missed, but hopefully I'll get better at it (with some practice ^_^) and do him proud.

About the cover:

"I wanted to explore the idea of 'a new hope' that the vaccine is bringing people, and add a little levity to a rather serious situation. It doesn’t hurt that I’m a huge nerd, so I made this cover as an homage to the iconic Star Wars poster.

COVID has kind of felt like the Death Star at points — a looming, deadly, insurmountable threat. However, the vaccines rolling out is giving me — and many other people — hope that we are moving in the right direction. I know that we aren’t out of the woods yet, but a step forward is better than being stagnant.

I featured the true front line fighters of the pandemic on the cover: doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers.

I hope this illustration will give you a chuckle, at least. I want to watch Star Wars again, now."
