Tri-Cities Vote 2023 Election Guide - HOME
The tricitiesvote.com guide is nonpartisan.
The issues in this questionnaire were identified by the public using an open community input process. Anyone interested in participating in identifying issues and drafting statements was invited to participate.
There are no ‘trick’ questions or litmus tests here. The A/B statements were worked over with the intent to present authentic positions which we could identify or envision real people holding.
None of the candidates' responses have been edited in any way.
All candidates on the ballot in competitive races were contacted multiple times by phone and email, and offered the opportunity to participate. Nonetheless, some candidates declined to respond. Those are listed at the end of this election guide.
Participatory government functions best when we all use our voices.
We want to thank everyone who participated in this process. We appreciate the patience and understanding of candidates. We know it is imperfect and we know it is stressful to commit to agreeing or disagreeing with positions candidates did not author. However, we feel this approach represents the messy reality of governmental sausage-making better than open-ended questionnaires can.
We are looking forward to continuing to improve in coming years and we’d love your help doing so. Just reach out to guide@tricitiesvote.com.
